This hands-on position requires strong mechanical inspection skills, the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications, and proficiency with precision measuring tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision metal fabrication, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented job shop environment.\n\nPosition Responsibilities:\nInspect fabricated metal products and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.\nPerform mechanical inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, prints, geometric tolerances, and weld symbols (GDT).\nConvert between Metric and English measurements, and between fractions and decimals.\nAccurately document inspection results and prepare certifications and reports as required.\nIdentify defects and nonconforming products, determine disposition, and recommend corrective actions.\nSupport and execute material inspection procedures, calibration systems, and statistical techniques.\nOperate, program, and calibrate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment (experience preferred).\nMaintain compliance with ISO procedures and internal quality standards.\nWork collaboratively with production teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.\nMaintain an organized, clean, and safe inspection area.\nPerform other duties as assigned to support business needs.\n\nPosition Requirements:\nExperience: Minimum 3 years of on-the-job experience in precision metal fabrication or machining quality inspection.\nEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong knowledge of inspection hand tools and geometric tolerances (GDT).\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.\nAbility to convert Metric and English measurements, and fractions to decimals.\nComputer proficiency (Excel, Word, or quality reporting systems).\nCMM operation and programming experience preferred.\nKnowledge of calibration systems, ISO procedures, and quality standards.\nFamiliarity with sheet metal, welding processes, and finishing operations.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift up to 75 lbs.\nFrequent standing, bending, stooping, and reaching overhead.\nSoft Skills:\nExcellent verbal and written communication.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a busy job shop environment.\nOther Requirements:\nMust reside in Columbus, OH or surrounding areas with reliable transportation.\nMust pass a background check and drug screen.\nForklift or pallet jack experience preferred.\nPrior experience in a custom fabrication or job shop environment a
