This role focuses on the construction phase of Crusoe’s data center campus projects until Operational handover. You will ensure that large-scale power distribution systems are installed safely, accurately, and efficiently to meet the demands of AI workloads.\nThis position requires an electrical professional with a strong mix of electrical construction and design methodologies, power distribution equipment installation and commissioning, and a strong background in construction and/or operational environments and expectations.\nThe role is remote by design, with a minimum travel expectation of 50% - there may come times when this travel expectation is exceeded during critical construction phases. Most travel will be to the construction site that the Electrical Field Engineer is assigned to support. Additionally, the role will be 24/7 on call support to their assigned campus for emergencies that arise.\nPreferred remote locations - TX, AZ, CO, LA, MO, UT, NV for travel ease to job sites\nWhat You'll Be Working On:\nSupport the on-site installation, quality assurance, functional checkout, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure - including medium/low voltage switchgear, power transformers, switchboards, protection and control, UPS systems, and electrical equipment internal to the data center.\n\nMonitor the deployment of advanced power backup and conditioning systems, including medium voltage UPS, backup generators, and BESS.\n\nSupport and direct involvement in substation protection system management\n\nTechnical support for RFI process\n\nTechnical support for temporary power and electrical switching\n\nTrack construction progress against project milestones and ensure adherence to Basis of Design and engineering specifications - without compromising speed.\n\nSupport rapid resolution of RFIs (Requests for Information) and Field Engineering Directives (FEDs) between the contractors and the internal design team.\n\nOwn critical lessons learned and field service bulletins that have design ramifications, so that they can be carried back into specs and templating\n\nSupport all levels 1-5 of commissioning activities in partnership with Crusoe’s Cx team, reviewing commissioning documents for technical accuracy and assurance of design intent met\n\nBe an electrical safety champion in partnership with Crusoe’s construction partners\n\nWhat You'll Bring to the Team:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent\n5+ years of experience in mission-critical environments supporting construction and/or operations.\nDeep practical understanding of electrical power distribution equipment assembly and installation.\nHands-on experience with on site construction and partnering with third-party general contractors and electrical subcontractors.\nStrong project management skills to assist in monitoring schedules, spotting bottlenecks, and driving on time completion in a technical position\nAbility to troubleshoot complex field installation issues and implement practical, code-compliant solutions on the fly.\nFlexibility to travel frequently or reside near assigned project site - minimum of 50% of time on site.\nBonus Points\nProfessional Engineer (PE) License or EIT certification.\n\nDirect experience overseeing the installation of high-density racks and their accompanying electrical infrastructure.\n\nMega Project construction experience in mission critical or heavy industry\n\nCertifications such as PMP, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety credentials.\n\nBenefits:\nCompetitive compensation\n\nRestricted Stock Units\n\nPaid time off & paid holidays\n\nComprehensive health, dental & vision insurance\n\nEmployer contributions to HSA account\n\nPaid parental leave\n\nPaid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability\n\nProfessional development & tuition reimbursement\n\nMental health & wellness support\n\nCommuter benefits (parking & transit)\n\nCell phone stipend\n\n401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary\n\nVolunteer time off\n\nCompensation Range\nCompensation will be paid in the range of $196,000 - $235,000 + Bonus.
