In this role, you will serve as the safety subject matter expert embedded across engineering and manufacturing, ensuring that electrical safety, machine safety, and process safety are built into our products and facilities from the earliest design stages through field deployment.\nThis position requires an engineer who can bridge technical design and safety compliance - working closely with Mechanical Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers to identify hazards, drive design improvements, and ensure our low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, and critical power distribution equipment meet applicable safety codes and standards.\nWhat You’ll Be Working On:\nDesign Team Safety Representation: Serve as the dedicated safety representative on design teams, reviewing 3D models, drawings, and specifications for modular buildings and power distribution equipment to identify potential hazards early in the design cycle\n\nTechnical Safety Program Ownership: Act as subject matter expert for technical safety programs, including electrical safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and machine safety\n\nSafety Analysis: Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, FTA), and failure mode analysis on products, equipment, and facility systems\n\nDocumentation: Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety cases, hazard logs, and compliance reports\n\nCode Compliance: Ensure designs and facilities comply with applicable safety codes, regulatory requirements, and engineering standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEC, UL listings)\n\nProcess Safety: Support Process Safety Management (PSM) program elements as they apply to facility operations and equipment\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to integrate safety requirements throughout the product lifecycle\n\nSite Support: Support safety assessments, walkthroughs, and equipment inspections at company facilities and customer sites\n\nReporting: Prepare and present safety reports to management, regulatory bodies, or customers as needed\n\nWhat You’ll Bring to the Team:\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline\n\nTechnical Foundation: Strong understanding of engineering principles as they relate to electrical and mechanical system safety\n\nStandards Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEC, ISO)\n\nTechnical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for electrical and mechanical systems\n\nFirst Principles: Ability to solve safety-related engineering problems utilizing a first principles approach\n\nAnalytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail\n\nCommunication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical safety findings for varied audiences\n\nBonus Points:\nExperience with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262, IEC 60204)\n\nExperience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs\n\nExperience with data centers, power distribution equipment, or complex electrical systems\n\nEngineer in Training (EIT) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License\n\nBenefits:\nCompetitive compensation and equity packages\n\nRestricted Stock Units\n\nPaid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs\n\nComprehensive health, dental & vision insurance\n\nEmployer contributions to HSA account\n\nPaid parental leave\n\nPaid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability\n\nProfessional development & tuition reimbursement\n\nMental health & wellness support\n\nCommuter benefits (parking & transit)\n\nCell phone stipend\n\n401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary\n\nVolunteer time off\n\nGlobal travel insurance & emergency assistance\n\nDaily meals allowance\n\nAdditional perks & programs specific to location\n\nCompensation:\nCompensation will be paid in the range of $115,000 - $150,000.
