The team delivers capital solutions across debt, tax equity, preferred equity, and advisory services to sponsors, developers, and investors. This work spans project-level and corporate-level transactions in renewable energy and energy transition infrastructure.\nThis is a hands-on execution role for a financially rigorous analyst with foundational knowledge and a strong desire to grow within renewable energy finance. The Associate will support the structuring, origination, and execution of financings across the capital structure.\nThe role requires strong financial modeling skills, exposure to renewables and energy transition markets, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment\nThis position is ideal for candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, renewable energy, structured finance, infrastructure investing, or a closely related field who are people who looking to deepen their structuring expertise in a fast-moving, technology-forward environment.\nWhat you'll do\nSupport transaction structuring execution across debt mandates, including modeling, diligence coordination, and documentation. Prepare client-facing materials, including financing presentations, credit memos, investor marketing materials, and internal approvals\n\nSupport advisory mandates, including financing alternatives analysis, capital raising strategy, and process management for sponsors and developers.\n\nConduct capital structure, pricing, and credit analysis across renewable energy asset classes.\n\nParticipate in strategic meetings with clients on financing alternatives, market positioning, and structuring considerations.\n\nInterface directly with capital providers, developers, sponsors, and external advisors.\n\nWork closely with senior members of the Structuring team to drive transactions from intake through term sheets, and maintain active market intelligence.\n\nLeverage technology and AI-enabled tools to increase accuracy and efficiency in modeling, diligence, and reporting.\n\nContribute to process improvements and template standardization (models, memos, term sheets) across the Structuring team.\n\nSupport platform initiatives to scale capital markets workflows and develop new tech-enabled products and solutions for financing processes.\n\nWhat you bring\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or MS a plus.\n\nMinimum 2+ years of experience in renewable energy, structured finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking or a closely related field.\n\nDemonstrated exposure to capital markets and/or project finance transactions.\n\nStrong financial modeling and structuring skills, with mastery of core valuation and credit concepts.\n\nStrong Excel skills, including comfort building and navigating complex financial models; VBA or Python skills a plus.\n\nExperience preparing transaction materials and conducting due diligence.\n\nFamiliarity with capital markets instruments used in clean infrastructure (term loans, private credit, structured debt, project-level financing, etc.)\n\nExposure to tax equity underwriting a plus.\n\nExperience in a transaction-focused environment with client interaction responsibility is a plus.\n\nStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.\n\nSelf-directed, highly organized, and detail-oriented.\n\nComfortable adopting new technology platforms and integrating AI tools into daily workflows.\n\nFINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63, or willingness to obtain them under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.\n\nWhat we bring\nBacking, traction & brand:\nWe have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best venture and strategic investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Ardent Venture Partners, Pattern, Clearway, EDFR, Intersect, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.\n\n$500m debt warehouse facility from Nuveen to invest in clean energy.\n\nHave been profitable and are growing exponentially\n\nWe have closed over 120+ transactions in just the last 2 years, facilitating billions of dollars of capital flowing into renewables projects\n\nCulture & working dynamic\nRemote-first operating model: Work from anywhere in the US and Canada, or work out of our optional offices in DC, NYC, & SF.
