Settlement moves real money, so correctness and auditability matter as much as speed.\nWe are moving the platform from Python and Airflow to Go services built around Postgres. You’ll help decide what the new platform looks like.\nWhat you’ll do\nOwn the design of Go backend services that list and settle event contracts around the clock.\nLead the move of business-critical workflows from Python/Airflow to Go services and durable job processing, without breaking live markets.\nDesign pipelines that take in data from multiple providers, match the same event across them, and reconcile differences accurately and idempotently.\nBuild settlement logic that holds up when things go wrong, including:Late or corrected results\nCancellations\nVoided markets\nProvider outages\nRace conditions\nWrite and review design docs, set engineering standards, and lead technical decisions across teams.\nMentor engineers through code review, pairing, and design feedback.\nTake part in on-call, lead incident response, and remove the causes of recurring incidents.\nWork with trading, operations, compliance, and product teams across time zones.\n\nWhat we’re looking for\nRequired\n5+ years building and running production backend systems, with ownership from design through on-call.\nStrong skills in Go, or deep experience in another backend language plus a clear willingness to work primarily in Go.\nDeep Postgres knowledge, including:Schema design\nMigrations\nQuery performance\nTransactions\nIsolation levels\nExperience designing distributed systems, including:Concurrency\nIdempotency\nRetries\nAt-least-once processing\nFailure handling\nA record of leading projects that span teams and making sound architecture trade-offs.\nClear writing, good judgment, and comfort when requirements are unclear.\nNice to have\nExperience with prediction markets, sportsbooks, exchanges, or sports data feeds, such as OpticOdds, LSports, StatsPerform, or Sportradar.\nExperience with ledgers, payments, settlement, or other systems where money is on the line.\nRedis, Kafka, or Postgres-backed job queues such as River.\nPython and Airflow experience, which would help with the migration.\nReact/TypeScript.\nAWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.\nExperience in regulated environments, such as CFTC/DCM, FINRA, or similar.\nStartup or zero-to-one
