On-Site 100%, No Remote Options\nAbout the Role\nYou will serve as the on-site HR presence for Backcountry's Utah Fulfillment Center, owning the full people function for a high-volume hourly workforce where your decisions directly shape culture, retention, and operational performance. Your scope spans every touchpoint of the employee lifecycle, and your impact is felt on the floor every day.\nAt 6-12 months, success looks like keeping a strong operation running: turnover holds steady, the supervisory team continues to build on its people management skills, and ER matters are handled with consistency, speed, and zero compliance exposure. Leaders trust you, employees know you, and HR is seen as a partner in sustaining operational results, not a back-office function.\nThis is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.\nWhat you get to do every day:\nOperational HR Partnership\nServe as a key HR partner to FC leaders on day-to-day people operations.\nParticipate in decision-making discussions that impact staffing, retention, and culture.\nHelp create accountability through shared ownership of people metrics and leadership cross-training.\nTalent Acquisition & Onboarding\nLead local onboarding efforts, ensuring a welcoming and consistent new hire experience.\nEmployee Experience & Retention\nChampion the full employee lifecycle-from onboarding to development milestones and recognition.\nIdentify trends from exit interviews and employee feedback, and use insights to improve retention and engagement.\nCollaborate with the team to set and track clear retention goals.\nTraining & Development\nDesign and deliver supervisor training and development programs.\nHelp upskill leaders through instructor-led sessions and on-the-job support.\nHR Operations & Compliance\nMaintain accurate employee records and compliance documentation.\nPartner with Safety and Operations teams to support OSHA initiatives and maintain a culture of safety.\nAssist in employee relations matters, conduct investigations, and recommend appropriate next steps.\nSupport DEI and engagement initiatives at the local level.\nData & Reporting\nCreate and share monthly HR metrics with site leadership, contributing to broader reporting consistency across locations.\nTrack progress on key indicators including turnover, hiring performance, engagement scores, and compliance.\nWhat you bring to the role:\nBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.\n 2-4 years of experience in an HR Generalist or related role-ideally in a fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing setting.\nStrong working knowledge of employment law and HR fundamentals.\nComfortable supporting both hourly and salaried employees in a high-paced, frontline environment.\nProactive communicator who builds trust and influences across all levels.\nDemonstrated success with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and retention.\nExperience with HRIS systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).\nBonus: Familiarity with OSHA or safety regulations in an operational setting.\nWhat’s in it for you?
