This role is the dedicated HR partner for that office-your focus stays squarely on corporate employees and the leaders who manage them, while peer HR managers cover fulfillment centers, call centers, and retail stores.\nAs Human Resources Manager, Corporate, you will own employee relations, performance management, onboarding, training, and engagement across the corporate office. Within the first year, success means corporate leaders see you as a trusted, hands-on partner, the annual performance cycle runs on time with consistent and well-documented outcomes, and employee relations issues are resolved promptly and fairly.\nThis is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.\nWhat You'll Do\nHR Business Partnership\nServe as the primary HR partner for corporate office leaders and employees, advising on team structure, people issues, and day-to-day HR questions.\nCoach managers on giving feedback, handling difficult conversations, and building strong teams.\nEmployee Relations & Compliance\nManage employee relations for the corporate office, including investigations, corrective action, and clear documentation.\nApply company policies consistently and keep corporate HR practices compliant with federal and Utah employment law.\nTalent & Performance Management\nRun the performance review process for the corporate office, including goal setting, calibration support, and follow-through with managers.\nSupport compensation reviews, promotions, and job leveling for corporate roles in partnership with HR leadership.\nPartner with Talent Acquisition on hiring needs and own a strong onboarding experience for new corporate hires.\nLearning & Development\nCoordinate and deliver training for corporate employees and managers, covering manager fundamentals, compliance, and professional development.\nEmployee Engagement\nPlan and run engagement initiatives for the corporate office, including recognition programs, survey action planning, and events that reflect Backcountry's outdoor culture.\nCross-Team Partnership\nCollaborate with peer HR managers supporting fulfillment, call center, and retail teams to keep policies and practices aligned across Backcountry.\nSupport the people side of organizational changes affecting the corporate office, such as reorganizations or acquisition integrations.\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years as an HR generalist or HR business partner supporting corporate or professional employees.\nHands-on employee relations experience, including conducting investigations and documenting outcomes.\nExperience running or supporting a performance management cycle.\nWorking knowledge of federal and Utah employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and related requirements).\nExperience delivering training or facilitating workshops for employees and managers.\nStrong communication skills and the credibility to advise managers and senior leaders.\nHighly organized and comfortable working in an HRIS.\nMust currently live in the Salt Lake City area and be able to work in-office 3x/week.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.\nSHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.\nExperience in an e-commerce, retail, or consumer brand environment.\nExposure to organizational change or acquisition integration from an HR perspective.\nWhy Join\nThe people who do best here are builders.
