In addition to tax, we pioneer new solutions in the corporate software space.\nWe are looking for a software engineer to help us build the next generation of revolutionary tax preparation products.\nThe Team\nWe're a driven team that works test first, so quality belongs to everyone rather than to a separate function. Development is agent-led, using tools like Claude Code. However, we stand behind every line of code we ship.\nTech Stack\nWe choose tools to fit the problem, so the stack is flexible. Today it centers on Python, Node.js/TypeScript, C#/.Net, and React, running on cloud infrastructure with modern CI/CD. Experience with these specifically is a plus, but strong engineers who pick up new tools quickly are what matter most.\nSome of the things that you will be doing:\nDesign, build, and maintain core product systems across data ingestion, computation, user interfaces, and regulatory output.\nOwn features end-to-end, from shaping requirements with the team through design, build, release, and iteration based on client feedback.\nWrite clean, maintainable, well-tested code, and own the tests and tooling the team depends on.\nWork with systems where data security is of utmost priority.\nTurn research prototypes into reliable, scalable production code.\nWrite and review design documents and take part in code reviews.\nContribute to architecture decisions, technical standards, and engineering practices.\nMonitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, security, and reliability.\nDocument systems and decisions so the team can move quickly and safely.\nWhat technical skills, experience and qualifications do you need?\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least 1-3 years of industry experience (equivalent practical experience will be considered as well).\nHave contributed to shipping production systems where you helped design, build, and maintain the solution.\nProficiency in one or more modern languages, such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C#/.Net.\nExperience with agent-led development tools, such as Claude Code.\nExperience with cloud platforms, APIs, relational databases, version control, and CI/CD.\nQuality tests written as you build, not as an afterthought.\nA product mindset: you care about whether what you build solves the user's problem, not only whether the code works.\nComfort learning an unfamiliar, complex domain quickly and independently.\nExperience working alongside researchers or on problems without settled answers.\nClear written and verbal communication.\nNice to Have\nExperience with React or other modern frontend frameworks.\nExperience building data-dense interfaces for expert users.\nExperience with systems where correctness is audited or regulated.\nExperience with containerization, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling.\nExperience in an early-stage product or startup environment.\nExperience integrating with ERP, general ledger, or other financial systems.\nBackground in tax, regulatory, legal, accounting, or another rule-governed domain.\nWhat You Get Out of This\nA funded product with real regulatory stakes.\nOwnership of meaningful parts of a product from early on.\nA small team that shares ownership of quality.\nDaily access to researchers, tax experts, and the world-class team behind the Corptax product suite.\nThe budget and infrastructure to do the job properly.\nFully remote in the U.S., with occasional on-site time or time-zone overlap as needed.\nA Note from the Team\nCorporate software is unforgiving.
