The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members. The incumbent must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nInstruction & Student Learning\nTeaches assigned courses as scheduled.\n\nParticipates in the identification of students with academic or other needs and responds by utilizing an appropriate resource.\n\nUses technology in a manner appropriate to the nature and objectives of courses and programs and communicates clearly to students the expectations concerning the use of such technology.\n\nKeeps accurate and appropriate records in accordance with departmental policies.\n\nMaintains attendance records, determines and submits grades in a timely manner and in accordance with established College policies and procedures, and communicates progress feedback and other relevant information to students throughout the semester.\n\nDistributes and maintains accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements.\n\nConducts classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule.\n\nEmploys appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.\n\nEngages in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson regarding teaching duties and professional development.\n\nStudent Engagement & Advisement\nCreates a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, student and faculty interaction, and support for learners.\n\nUses technology to assist in communication with students.\n\nEncourages a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom.\n\nRefers students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.\n\nCulture of Respect\nFosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.\n\nOther duties as required.\n\nRegular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.\n\nOther Duties & Responsibilities\nAttend all department meetings and required trainings.\n\nMinimum Education and Experience Required\nAssociate degree.\n\nFive (5) years of experience as a healthcare provider.\n\nTwo (2) years of experience working with an Ohio or CoAEMSP-accredited EMS training program.\n\n**An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate**\nLicenses and Certifications\nState Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).\n\nOhio-certified Paramedic and Ohio-certified Fire & Emergency Medical Services Instructor; OR Ohio Medical Board Licensed Physician and Ohio-certified Physician EMS Instructor.\n\n*CSCC has the right to revise this position description at any time.
