The LSS II tutors in-person and works with students, either one-on-one or in small groups to help them attain a deeper and more substantial command of the assigned subject matter. The LSS II works with multiple students and with othertutors present, in a shared tutoring space. This role communicates with the department regarding individual student progress and needs. This position is responsible for generating reports from tutoring software and sending them to his/her supervisor. The LSS II must have a strong command of the subject matter and be able to communicate it effectively to students using a variety of methods and teaching tools.\nTutoring\nSupplements students’ understanding and command of the course material for which the students are seeking assistance, outside of class.\nTutors for introductory courses in discipline area of expertise only.\nHelps students to develop and apply appropriate learning and study skills.\nMeets with students at appointed time.\nAdministrative/Clerical Functions\nMaintains documentation of all tutoring sessions.\nGenerates department reports for tutoring and maintains documentation of department tutoring interactions.\nProvides course instructor(s) with communication/information that can be used to facilitate student learning of course content.\nProficient use and implementation of the College’s tutoring software.\nContinuous Learning & Mentoring\nMaintains a thorough knowledge of the course material, as well as multiple instructional methodologies, to accommodate various student learning styles.\nAttends tutor training sessions.\nProvides support to LSS, LSS I, Peer Tutors & Supplemental Instructional Leaders.\nAssists with technical support of tutoring software and reports.\nCulture of Respect\nFosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.\nMinimum Qualifications\nMaster's Degree in related field.\nOne (1) year of teaching and/or tutoring experience in an educational environment desired.\nAdditional Information\nState Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).\nFull Time/Part Time:\nPart timeUnion (If Applicable):\nScheduled Hours:\n20Additional Information\nIn order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:\nPlease ensure you have all the necessary documents available when starting the application process.
