Many of our iconic innovations were once considered impossible until someone, just like you, joined us and took on the challenge.\nVisit CSIRO.au for more information.\nThe opportunity\nWe're seeking a Data Analyst to join the Data Acquisition and Processing Team supporting scientific operations associated with Australia's national marine research vessel, the RV Investigator.\nIn this role, you'll help ensure the accuracy, quality and accessibility of scientific data generated through marine research activities. You'll work closely with scientists and technical specialists to process, quality assure and manage complex datasets, improve data workflows and contribute to the ongoing development of software tools and systems that support scientific research.\nBased in Hobart, you'll be part of a highly collaborative team delivering critical data services that enable world-class ocean and environmental science. The role may include occasional participation in research voyages to provide specialist technical support when required.\nYour high-level duties will include:\nProcess, quality assure and manage scientific datasets collected through marine research activities.\nDevelop and improve data acquisition, processing and management workflows and procedures.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of software tools and systems supporting scientific data operations.\nWork collaboratively with scientists and technical specialists to support data management and reporting requirements.\nProduce and maintain technical documentation, procedures and user guidance.\nProvide specialist data and technical support to research programs and voyages as required.\nRole particulars\nLocation: Hobart, TAS\nSalary: AU$76k - AU$96kper annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation\nTenure: Specified term of 3 years; Full-time.
