We build parks, pathways, streetscapes, pedestrian bridges, public spaces, and large-scale outdoor construction projects across Ontario.\nWe are looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Estimator - Civil & Municipal to join our team.\nThis is an estimating-first role. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of estimating experience who understands how outdoor construction projects are built and can confidently take a project from tender documents and drawings through detailed take-offs, pricing, and bid submission.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience estimating landscape construction, civil site work, municipal projects, site development, parks, pathways, or similar outdoor construction projects.\nExperience with project coordination or project management is an asset, but strong estimating experience is essential.\nWhat You’ll Be Estimating\nOur projects combine landscape construction, civil site work, structures, site development, and public infrastructure.\nProjects may include:\nParks and recreation facilities\n\nTrails and pathway systems\n\nStreetscapes and public spaces\n\nPedestrian bridges and structures\n\nSite development and civil works\n\nGrading and drainage\n\nConcrete, curbs, sidewalks, and hardscape\n\nRetaining walls and site structures\n\nMunicipal landscape construction\n\nLarge-scale landscape construction and public realm projects\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nReview drawings, specifications, tender documents, and contract requirements\n\nComplete detailed quantity take-offs\n\nBuild accurate estimates for labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs\n\nPrepare competitive bids and tender submissions\n\nUse construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and site requirements to develop accurate pricing\n\nObtain and coordinate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors\n\nIdentify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and opportunities\n\nReview project requirements for constructability and potential value engineering opportunities\n\nWork with operations and project management to ensure estimates reflect realistic construction methods\n\nAssist with pre-construction planning and project startup\n\nProvide a clear handoff from estimating to the project team\n\nSupport the project team with estimating and scope questions following project award\n\nMaintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors\n\nHelp improve estimating processes and best practices\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nThe most important requirement is proven estimating experience in landscape, civil, municipal, or other outdoor construction projects.\nWe are looking for someone who understands how outdoor construction projects are built and can look at a set of drawings and specifications and determine what needs to be built, how it will be built, and what it will cost.\n5+ years of estimating experience in landscape construction, civil site work, municipal construction, parks, pathways, site development, or similar outdoor construction\n\nProven experience preparing competitive bids and tenders\n\nStrong ability to complete detailed quantity take-offs\n\nStrong understanding of labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and construction methods\n\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents\n\nExperience working with public-sector or municipal tenders is an asset\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines\n\nComfortable working with suppliers, subcontractors, operations teams, project managers, and leadership\n\nDiploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Landscape Design, or a related fieldt (Equivalent industry experience will also be considered)\nSoftware Experience\nStrong experience with the following is important:\nPlanSwift\n\nBluebeam\n\nMicrosoft Excel\n\nExperience with HeavyBid or other estimating software is an asset, but strong experience with PlanSwift and Bluebeam is more important for this role.\nThe Right Fit for CSL\nYou may have developed your estimating experience in landscape construction, civil construction, site development, municipal construction, parks, pathways, or other outdoor construction.\nWe are looking for someone who understands the practical side of construction and can take a project from plans and specifications to a complete, accurate estimate.\nThis role is focused on outdoor construction projects.
