The development, harmonization, provision, implementation and monitoring of EHS standards, coordination with GMs and local external EHS experts & specialists at our affiliates and R&D centers is essential and integral part of this role.\nReporting to the Head of EHS R&D and Affiliates, this position demonstrates competence across a variety of EHS disciplines while ensuring EHS compliance requirements are being reviewed and maintained at several CSL facilities\nKey Responsibilities\nProvides guidance and structure to support safety programs across several labs, offices, and distribution locations to ensure on-going compliance with European, country-specific laws and regulations through reviews, corrective action, and continuous improvement. Manages Melbourne site EHS programs to ensure on-going compliance through reviews, corrective action, and continuous improvement.\nEngage with company facility and regional senior management to represent the EHS Function as part of the regional leadership governance process. Ensures site delegates meet all outlined requirements and renewal requirements.\nDevelops Standardized Environmental and Safety Programs\nFacilitates and performs risk identification and analysis.\n\nAffiliates: Risks that arise from typical office-based and field-based activities\n\nR&D center: Risks that arise from typical laboratory activities.\n\nFacilitates and performs environmental risk identification and analysis.\n\nOutlines training requirement to staff.\n\nEnsures regulatory compliance and site conformance to procedures and policies\n\nDevelops EHS Incident Program & Procedures\nReviews and categorizes incident reports, investigations, and CAPA.\n\nLeads and reviews incident investigations and outlines areas for improvement or additional mitigation efforts.\n\nTracks incident and CAPA metrics.\n\nAssists with incident notifications and safety alerts\n\nOther Responsibilities as Assigned May Include\nEnvironmental and sustainability program management.\n\nDevelopment of technical documents including EHS procedures, programs, and training.\n\nOwns the development and execution of emergency response plans and drills.\n\nQualifications, Skills & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering or equivalent; master’s degree preferred\n\nGeneral Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety recommended\n\n7+ year’s relevant EHS experience\n\nThorough knowledge of safety and environmental regulations\n\nPharmaceutical, R&D or chemical operations experience\n\nAbility to work independently and build partnerships globally\n\nMust be able to travel within the APAC region.\n\nMust have the ability to write procedures, policies, reports, and correspondence.\n\nMust be comfortable with delivering presentations to audiences of 5-200 people (ex. training, presentation of data or results)\n\nMust be comfortable with engaging/influencing senior business leadership regarding EHS matters\n\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures and policies\n\nClosing Date for Applications: Monday 28th September, 2026\nLocation: Melbourne CBD\nAbout CSL Behring\nCSL Behring is a global biotherapeutics leader driven by our promise to save lives.
