They will be responsible for developing, programming, and improving programming logic for better performance, operation, and efficiency, as well as providing technical support to other technicians. This position will be the subject matter expert and system owner for Building Automation Systems and user interfaces used in HDS Facilities (e.g., Innotech and JCI Metasys).\nFull Consideration Date:\nThis posting will remain open until filled.\nHousing & Dining Services:\nPlease visit https://hr.colostate.edu/prospective-employees/our-people/ to learn about joining Housing & Dining Services (HDS) as one of the largest departments on campus and is responsible for the management, finance, administration, and program development of all University housing facilities, including residence halls, university apartments, and Mountain Campus.\nEssential Job Duties:\nMaintain and improve the BAS, graphics, networks, and databases.\nEvaluate control systems and programs to adjust as needed to maximize performance and energy efficiency.\nPerform inspections on new installations to ensure all standards are being met.\nCoordinate and assist the work of University approved subcontractors to provide BAS and mechanical related services when outsource contracting is necessary due to expertise, schedule conflicts or internal labor shortages.\nWork with campus partners to maintain servers, databases, network access, and other technical issues.\nTrouble-shoot a variety of BAS and other specialized equipment for electronic monitoring, network communication, measuring and overall operation of building automation system controllers, extension modules, network automation engines and a variety of different types of controls hardware across multiple operating system platforms from different manufactures and protocols.\nCreate, monitor, adjust and oversee Building Automation alarm systems and distribution notifications.\nDevelop graphics in new environments with licensed training programs in proprietary software. Continuing improvements and additions as controls are upgraded, stay up to date on product training as needed.\nSupervision:\nNo formal supervisory authority. May act as a subject matter expert for less experience technicians.\nConditions of Employment:\nPre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) \nPre-employment Physical: Must successfully pass WorkSTEPS\nBackground check required\nValid Driver’s License \nEssential Services Designation \nShift Work \nOn-call Status: Will be required to work overtime in response to after-hours service requests. Will be required to carry a cell phone on a rotating basis with other staff to support the after-hours response program.\nUse, Handling, or Exposure to hazardous materials.\nMinimum Education:\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent\nMinimum Experience:\nThree years of experience in programming BAS systems and three years of experience as a Controls or HVAC Technician, which may be overlapping.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced BAS and HVAC experience within a school district, commercial campus, or similar environment. \nDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills. \nExperience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting High Efficiency Boilers \nExperience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting Chillers. \nExperience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting Rooftop Heating and Cooling units. \nExperience maintaining, programming, repairing, and trouble-shooting a variety of Building Automation Control systems including the end devices it controls. \nAbility to utilize computers and smart phones to manage work orders and communicate with team. \nApplication Instructions:\nTo apply, please upload a cover letter and resume that clearly outline your work experience, education, certifications, and any other relevant information demonstrating how your qualifications align with the required and preferred qualifications listed in the posting.
