These temporary positions have the responsibility to conduct a program of research under the mentorship of a faculty research group within the department. A teaching load of up to 3 courses per year, as assigned by the department chair, is expected, and depends upon funding source. Applicants should identify a faculty member(s) of interest for collaboration in their cover letter.\nA detailed description of the department and information on specific faculty research programs are available on the department website at: http://www.math.colostate.edu.\nA detailed description of the department’s teaching program is available on the department’s web page at: www.math.colostate.edu/programs/undergraduate/\nSalary range:\n$60,000-$65,000\nEssential Job Duties:\nResearch:\nOn a continuing basis, pursue the independent research objectives outlined under duties and decisions, and meet weekly with your research group.\n\nThis duty requires a knowledge in the assigned research area which far exceeding that of a graduate student.\n\nParticipate in research group meetings and seminars.\n\nPresent results.\n\nPromote collaboration with academic colleagues in other departments and/or at other universities.\n\nThis duty requires maturity and research practice far exceeding what is required of a PhD student.\n\nTeaching:\nThe responsibilities are to teach a mixture of university level service courses and other courses for our Mathematics Majors.\n\nThe employee will teach 3 courses per year, as assigned by the department chair.\n\nConditions of Employment:\nPre-employment criminal background check (required for new hires).\nSupervision:\nThis position reports to a faculty member within the Department of Mathematics.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nApplicant has a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or related science area by the date of hire.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n2 years of teaching experience at the university level or equivalent.\n\nHas a record of teaching a range of mathematics services courses and graduate courses.\n\nHas a record of being a course coordinator, and/or experiences teaching large number of students (75 or higher).\n\nApplication Instructions:\nPlease submit a cover letter, cv, and research statement as part of a complete application.
