Working under the guidance of faculty mentors, Postdoctoral Fellows conduct independent and collaborative research, contribute original and creative scholarly work, publish scientific findings, develop research skills, and participate in activities that advance their professional development and career objectives.\nAppointments are based on departmental needs, available funding, research priorities, and the qualifications and expertise of the selected candidate. Research areas may span the full range of biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, materials science, sustainability, energy, translational research, computational modeling, and other disciplines aligned with the School's mission.\nDepartment Name:\nSchool of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering\nSalary Range:\n$50,000 to $80,000\nAnticipated Start Date:\nVaries based on departmental needs and available funding.\nAnticipated Weekly Hours:\nFull-time. Work schedules may vary based on research activities, project requirements, and funding obligations. Occasional evening, weekend, or travel commitments may be required.\nEssential Duties:\nConduct independent and collaborative research projects under the guidance of faculty mentors.\n\nDesign, execute, analyze, and interpret research studies and experiments.\n\nPrepare and publish scholarly manuscripts, technical reports, and other research products.\n\nAssist in the preparation and submission of research proposals and sponsored project applications.\n\nCollaborate with faculty investigators, research staff, students, and external partners on research activities.\n\nMentor undergraduate students, graduate students, and other research personnel as appropriate.\n\nPresent research findings at scientific conferences, professional meetings, seminars, and other scholarly venues.\n\nMaintain compliance with applicable federal, state, university, sponsor, laboratory safety, and research integrity requirements.\n\nParticipate in professional development activities that support the transition to independent research careers.\n\nContribute to the growth and advancement of the School's research enterprise through collaboration, innovation, and scholarly engagement.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nConditions of Employment:\nRequired Criminal History Background Check for new hires.\n\nSuccessful completion of all required University onboarding and compliance training.\n\nCompliance with University policies regarding laboratory safety, biosafety, chemical hygiene, research integrity, export controls, data security, and responsible conduct of research, as applicable.\n\nAbility to work safely in laboratory, field, clinical, manufacturing, computational, or other research environments associated with assigned projects.\n\nLegal authorization to work in the United States by the proposed start date. Sponsorship may be available consistent with University policy.\n\nOccasional travel may be required.\n\nOccasional evening or weekend work may be required to support research activities.\n\nSupervision:\nMay provide mentoring, training, technical guidance, or project support to undergraduate students, graduate students, and other research personnel. Postdoctoral Fellows do not typically have formal supervisory responsibilities.\nRequired Job Qualifications:\nPh.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related engineering or scientific discipline.\n\nDegree must be completed prior to the start date.\n\nDemonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research.\n\nExperience designing and executing research studies, experiments, or analytical investigations.\n\nExperience analyzing and interpreting scientific data.\n\nDemonstrated ability to prepare manuscripts, technical reports, presentations, or research proposals.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.\n\nAbility to establish and maintain productive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, sponsors, and external collaborators.\n\nPreferred Job Qualifications:\nPrevious postdoctoral, industrial, government, clinical, or academic research experience.\n\nRecord of peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or other scholarly products.\n\nExperience working in multidisciplinary research environments.\n\nExperience mentoring undergraduate or graduate students.\n\nExperience preparing grant proposals or supporting externally funded research.\n\nExperience collaborating with academic, government, healthcare, industry, or community partners.\n\nExperience working in one or more areas aligned with the School's research mission.\n\nApplication Instructions:\nTo apply, please upload a resume and cover letter.
