One day it’s a server component in the App Router. The next day it’s an Express middleware that validates a payload before it hits the database. You’re comfortable moving between the two.\n\nDesign it before you build it - Before you write any code for a feature, you’ll write a short low-level design for it. You’ll shape the REST APIs and data models across MongoDB and MySQL or PostgreSQL. You’ll know when a document model makes sense, when a join is better, and which index will stop a query from crawling once the data grows.\n\nYou’ll plug things in - Our projects connect to third-party APIs, and sometimes that means Salesforce. You’ll handle the auth handshakes, rate limits, and odd error responses, and the integration will hold up after go-live.\n\nYou ship it, and you keep it running - You’ll deploy, monitor, and support applications on AWS. Your work isn’t done at merge. It’s done when the app runs well on EC2 or Lambda, the logs show what you need, and nobody gets paged at 2 AM.\n\nThe team gets better around you - You’ll review pull requests with feedback that teaches, and you’ll mentor junior developers. You’ll write tests, and you’ll write code people can read without having to ask you what it does.\n\nNo surprises, ever - You’ll estimate your own work, and if something is slipping you’ll say so on day two, not on day nine.
