Explore more on Cubic.com.\nJob Details:\nPosition Overview\nCubic Digital Intelligence is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the security engineering and authorization of a mission-focused system for a U.S. Government customer. The successful candidate will lead cybersecurity compliance activities and work closely with customer security personnel, system engineers, and program leadership to help obtain and maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO).\nThis position is contingent upon contract award, funding, and customer approval.\nResponsibilities\nLead cybersecurity engineering and Risk Management Framework activities supporting system authorization.\nDevelop, review, and maintain security plans, control implementations, risk assessments, and authorization artifacts.\nCoordinate with customer authorizing officials, security representatives, system owners, and engineering teams.\nAssess system designs and configurations against applicable government security requirements.\nGuide the implementation and documentation of technical, operational, and management security controls.\nPerform security-control assessments, vulnerability reviews, compliance checks, and risk analysis.\nTrack findings, plans of action and milestones, dependencies, and remediation activities through closure.\nSupport system hardening, secure configuration, access control, auditing, logging, and continuous monitoring.\nEvaluate proposed system changes for cybersecurity and authorization impacts.\nPrepare for and participate in security reviews, assessments, test events, and authorization meetings.\nTranslate cybersecurity requirements into actionable engineering tasks.\nCommunicate security risks, status, and recommendations to technical and program leadership.\nSupport ongoing compliance and maintenance of the authorization baseline after ATO approval.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field.\nAt least 8 years of relevant cybersecurity, information-assurance, or security-engineering experience.\nDemonstrated experience supporting ATO packages and the federal Risk Management Framework.\nKnowledge of security controls, assessment procedures, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring.\nExperience developing security documentation and maintaining authorization evidence.\nWorking knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls, RMF, eMASS, STIGs/SRGs, vulnerability management, continuous monitoring, and POA&M management.\nExperience securing cloud, hybrid, containerized, Kubernetes, or tactical-edge environments.\nStrong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently at a customer site while collaborating with a distributed project team.\nActive TOP Secret security clearance with ability to obtain SCI.\nDoD 8570/8140-compliant certification appropriate to the position.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in cybersecurity or a related technical discipline.\nExperience supporting defense, Intelligence Community, or other classified federal programs.\nExperience securing containerized, cloud-based, or distributed enterprise systems.\nFamiliarity with government security policies, security technical implementation guidance, and automated compliance tools.\nExperience coordinating with Security Control Assessors or Authorizing Officials.\nCISSP, CAP/CGRC, CASP+, or another relevant advanced cybersecurity certification.\nAdditional Information\nEmployment is contingent upon contract award, funding, customer approval, and completion of applicable security, badging, and facility-access requirements.
