This role focuses on strain gage installation, fine lead wire routing, solder junction preparation, bridge wiring, and precision balance assembly. The hardware you build will support hypersonic vehicles, space re-entry systems, and advanced aerospace research programs conducted in some of the nation’s most sophisticated wind tunnels and flight environments.\nAhmic Aerospace is a small, focused engineering team based in Dayton, Ohio. We design and build advanced aerodynamic instrumentation for extreme aerospace environments. Join us to tackle cutting-edge challenges in hypersonics, thermal protection, and instrumentation, where your contributions make an immediate difference.\nResponsibilities:\nPrepare balance components and surfaces for strain gage bonding\nInstall foil and semiconductor strain gages per specified temperature, pressure, and curing requirements\nRoute, trim, and solder fine-gauge lead wires (30-42 AWG) to solder junctions and terminal points\nFollow wiring diagrams and perform detailed wiring under stereo microscope\nInstall interconnection bridge wiring and temperature compensation circuits\nCarefully assemble tight-tolerance mechanical balance components\nSet up calibration fixtures and assist with static load calibration of multi-axis balances\nInspect, troubleshoot, repair, and refurbish force measurement systems following wind tunnel testing\nRequirements\nQualifications:\nDemonstrated experience with fine-scale soldering and micro wiring\nAbility to work under magnification for extended periods\nExperience installing strain gages preferred\nFamiliarity with Wheatstone bridge circuits and force measurement systems preferred\nAbility to read and interpret wiring diagrams and engineering drawings and process documentation\nExperience using digital multimeters and power supplies to verify conformity\nStrong manual dexterity and attention to detail\nMust meet internal solder and workmanship standards\nAbility to lift and control 50 lbs test weights\nSpecial Requirements:\nMust be able to obtain and remain eligible for a US Department of Defense security clearance during the course of employment.\nWhy CUBRC:\n401(k) - No Waiting Period. 100% Vested on date of hire. \n3% company contribution in the first year of employment, company contribution increases over time.
