Youwill provide analytical and strategic support to senior management andactas the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision-makingthroughforecasting, creating financial budgets, and models, and conducting performance-based analyses.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nFinancial and Accounting Support\n\nConduct thorough analysis of financial data, including but not limited to income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget reports\n\nWork closely with senior management to model medium to long-term financial forecasts to align with the Company’s strategic plans\n\nCollaborate with the finance and accounting teams across Electric Heat to develop and monitor forecasts\n\nSupport business partners by providing financial insights and analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities\n\nPartner with senior management to solve business challenges and identify opportunities to improve financial performance through analytical support\n\nRun annual budgets and forecasts, including the roll-out of regular re-forecasting cycles and procedures\n\nCorporate Expense\n\nReconcile and review financial results against budget/forecast and prior year\n\nUpdate forecasts\n\nIdentify and explain variances to provide insights to senior management/leaders\n\nPartner with Corporate Accounting and Department leaders to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations\n\nStandard Reporting and Documentation\n\nManage the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning process\n\nCreate financial statements and other financial analyses for review\n\nPrepare, analyze, and distribute weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports to be used for predictive modelling, and identify drivers of business results\n\nTrack the performance of business units, segments, and the Company against forecasts\n\nMonitor market and business-specific key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances\n\nManage capital expenditure approval process\n\nMaintain and update bonus and performance-based compensation model\n\nDevelop presentations to communicate the Company’s results and forecasts to the investor community, the Company’s Board of Directors, senior management, and other key stakeholders\n\nContinuous Improvement\n\nDrive, develop, and improve standard processes and procedures by identifying trends, anomalies, inefficiencies, and gaps in financial processes\n\nProvide actionable recommendations to address challenges, streamline processes, increase productivity, and improve financial performance\n\nAssist with the development, documentation, implementation, and continual improvement of financial policies and procedures\n\nTake an active role in the broader Finance team; facilitating smooth implementation of - and adherence to - new finance requirements, systems, and processes\n\nStay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to accounting and finance\n\nParticipate in other projects (as assigned), that relate to the overall goals of the department and enterprise\n\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience\n2 to 5 years of applicable experience\n\nFP&A experience within apublicly traded company and/or manufacturing company\n\nExperience with OneStream, or other financial consolidation platforms\n\nPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nDesire to get into the details and put the “A” in FP&A\n\nWork as a business partner in delivering better decision support and enabling strategic initiatives that help improve the organization’s financial performance\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills\n\nProficient financial modeling, analytical skills, and strong attention to detail as well as strong business acumen\n\nAble to present results to diverse audiences and communicate effectively (with all levels of the organization)\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work with complex financial data\n\nStrong knowledge of planning and performance processes, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and periodic business reviews\n\nStrong communication, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner\n\nCapacity to lead and manage others and work cross-functionally\n\nAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment\n\nContinuous improvement mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements\n\nStrong working knowledge of accounting, and finance operations.\n\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required\n\nTravel & Working Environment\nOnsite office environment\n\n10-25% Travel\n\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
