As a EH&S Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining occupational health and safety programs within a manufacturing environment. Also ensure compliance with applicable legislation, promote a strong safety culture, and help prevent workplace incidents through proactive risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nCompliance & Regulatory Management\nEnsure compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety legislation and company policies \nMaintain awareness of regulatory updates and implement required changes \nSupport internal and external safety audits and inspections \nPrepare and maintain required safety documentation and records \nIncident Investigation & Reporting\nLead and support workplace incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations \nIdentify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions \nComplete and submit required regulatory reports in a timely manner \nTrack incident trends and recommend improvement actions\nMaintain accurate data information in internal incident tracking platform-Velocity\nProvide support to team with managing Velocity application\n3. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control\nConduct workplace inspections and hazard assessments \nIdentify risks in manufacturing processes, equipment, and work practices \nSupport implementation of engineering, administrative, and PPE controls \nReview and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safe Work Procedures \n4. Training & Employee Engagement\nDeliver and coordinate safety training (e.g., onboarding, WHMIS, PPE, emergency response)\nOrganize and Coordinate JHSC meetings.\nSupport joint health and safety committee (JHSC) activities \nPromote safety awareness and continuous improvement in culture \nAssist supervisors in reinforcing safe work practices \n5. Program Development & Continuous Improvement\nSupport development and maintenance of health and safety programs \nParticipate in ergonomic assessments and injury prevention initiatives \nAssist in emergency preparedness planning and drills \nRecommend improvements to safety systems and manufacturing processes\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience\n2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment \nExperience in metal fabrication, assembly, or mechanical manufacturing is an asset \nProven experience in incident investigation and safety program implementation \nPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation \nExcellent communication and training delivery skills \nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities \nAbility to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization \nHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills \nComfortable working in a fast-paced production environment\nEducation & Certifications\nPost-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related field \nCRSP or equivalent certification (preferred or in progress) \nFirst Aid/CPR certification (asset) \nTravel & Working Environment\nManufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and production activity \nRequirement to wear appropriate PPE at all times \nOccasional off-shift work or flexibility required for incident response or audits\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
