As a Logistics Supervisor, you will be critical to the company’s success through directly overseeing and monitoring the flow of materials throughout two plants. Additionally, you will directly coordinate all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics. The successful Materials & Logistics Supervisor will have a strong analytical mindset, function with a sense of urgency and possess the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nMaterial Handling\nSupervise and coordinate the activities of material handlers, ensuring that they adhere to established safety procedures and guidelines\nOversee the receiving, storing, and organizing of materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient workflow and space utilization\nCoordinate the timely receiving and shelving of purchased components\nPartner with purchasing to improve delivery method inbound freight from vendors\nManage flow of materials to operators and between buildings\nEnsure manufactured parts are available timely\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, scheduling, and quality, to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery to meet production schedules\nPartner with Master Scheduler to coordinate cycle counting program\nSuggest improvement plans based on outcomes of cycle counts\nLogistics\nSecure and oversee shipping arrangements of units, including working with outside companies to secure trucking \nCollaborate with Sales when arranging shipment\nProvide up to date information to customer or end user as to delivery dates and times\nPerform system functions related to shipping\nManage BOL and quality photos of each shipment\nContinuous Improvement\nDevelop a process improvement plan for documenting outbound shipments\nParticipate on the team developing and implementing bar coding in the warehouse\nImprove training process for Material Handlers\nSuggest improvements for warehousing inbound material shipments from vendors\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience\n3-5 Years in Logistics supervisor role, material Handling or inventory Controls\nHigh School Diploma\nBasic level Excel, Word\nPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nDetail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and improve processes\nTMS Enterprise Shipping System Web based App.\nProfessional verbal and written communication skills. \nDemonstrated understanding of warehouse management\nProven ability to lead a team\nKnowledge of Epicor\nKnowledge of SAP\nAbility to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules or demands\nAbility to become a certified forklift operator\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree, preferred\nTravel & Working Environment\nOnsite\nManufacturing working environment and may be exposed to bad weather, excessive heath and/or noise\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
