As Machine Operator, you may operate fabricating machines, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines and punch machines that cut shape and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nLoad and unload materials into machine\nSetup and change tooling used in the machine\nOperate machine controls and change programming for each work order\nInterpret mechanical engineered drawings (blueprints)\nTroubleshoot issues with assistance\nClean machines and complete preventative maintenance per schedule\nComplete necessary paperwork\nReport on supply levels\nAssist in other work areas as needed\nAdditional duties as assigned\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience\n1 year experience in a manufacturing environment\n1 year experience operating fabricating machinery \nRead a tape measure and ruler and convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions\nPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n1-2 years’ experience programming equipment\nMeet all product quality requirements\nAbility to use precision hand tools\nSpot welding\nAttention to detail\nEducation & Certifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nTravel & Working Environment\nOnsite\nThe employee will be required to stand and walk for at least 8 hours.\nRegularly be required to push/pull material with assistance of overhead crane.\nClimb stairs, reach and bend regularly\nOccasionally sit, grasp, climb, crawl, twist, and work at heights.\nOccasionally lift, hold and/or move up to 50 pounds\nManufacturing environment requires use of required Personal Protective Equipment, such as foot, eye and ear protection when in production locations\nPotential exposure to bad weather, excessive heat, and/or excessive noise\nWe recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $37,000 - $61,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
