As the Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will assist the Mechanical Engineering team with testing prototype products prior to their release. You will also assist with documentation, assembly and testing of alpha units for the upcoming product release.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nProjects & Continuous Improvement\nProvide support to the Mechanical Engineering team with technical activities required on assigned projects such as:Beta testing of products using test lab, terrarium, and in-pipe testing tools\nAlpha testing NPD products including assembly and testing\nDevelop documentation for beta and alpha products\n\nContribute to design and analysis tasks as assigned.\nLead other projects as assigned or proposed by you.\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience and Education\nStudent working towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, or other related Engineering field\nCandidates must have completed their third year of engineering studies\nCumulative GPA of 3.0 or above\nHigh problem-solving skills and self-direction\nCompany will not provide sponsorship of position - must be eligible to work in US\nPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nFamiliarity with technical drawings \nMechanical aptitude for machines, tools, and testing \nTechnical hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products\nTravel & Working Environment\nManufacturing Environment frequently requires use of foot and eye protection when in production areas\nAbility to climb, stoop, crouch and crawl\nAbility to lift/move up to 25lbs occasionally\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
