Join our Product Management team as a 2027 summer intern, where you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting new product initiatives, value engineering projects, and cross-functional collaboration that drives innovation. This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Business, Engineering, or related fields who want exposure to product lifecycle management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nAssist with value add/value engineering (VA/VE) projects to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve product marketability.\nSupport the development and refinement of product documentation, brochures, presentations, and tools.\nContribute to market and competitive research to help define value-added product features that align with customer needs.\nCollaborate with engineers, sourcing, and operations teams to track project timelines, update schedules, and align deliverables.\nContribute to vital initiatives involving customer experience, IT systems, metrics tracking or product positioning.\nThis internship provides the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in product management, gain exposure to product design and testing, and learn how cross-functional teams bring new products to market. If you are analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply.\nWhat we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience & Skills\nProficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nIdeal Experience & Skills\nFamiliarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or data visualization software\nInterest in product development, value engineering, and lifecycle management\nExperience in customer service, office administration, or student leadership roles\nEducation & Certifications\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field\nCoursework or prior internship/project experience in product management, operations, or engineering\nCumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nTravel & Working Environment\nHybrid schedule\nThe position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours. \nOccasional lifting up to 50 pounds.\nKeyboarding/typing.\nAbility to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy.\nAbility to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to communicate effectively verbally.\nOur intern and co-op positions are paid, and we offer housing stipends for students who are not local to the Kansas City area.\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
