With robotic solutions and innovative inspection technology, we improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of infrastructure systems.\nHow you will make an Impact (Job Summary)\nULC Technologies is seeking a Field Project Manager to oversee robotic gas main rehabilitation projects from planning through completion. This role manages field execution, client coordination, scheduling, reporting, and team leadership while working closely with highly specialized robotic field crews.\nThis is a hands-on, field-focused role. Approximately 75% of time will be spent on active utility construction sites throughout New York, New Jersey, and the Boston area\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nProject & Field Operations\nGain a comprehensive understanding of ULC equipment, robotic systems, and field methodologies.\nOversee daily field operations to ensure work is performed safely, accurately, and efficiently.\nResponsible for work continuity, production and safe operations.\nMonitor project progress across active and upcoming jobs to meet productivity targets.\nMaintain and manage crew schedules and field resources.\nTroubleshoot equipment, personnel, and operational issues in real time.\nEnsure financial goals and productivity are being met.\nClient & Stakeholder Management\nServe as the primary point of contact for utility clients during field execution.\nProvide regular project status updates and participate in weekly coordination calls.\nReview project maps and site plans; identify concerns and assist with project planning.\nCoordinate with utility clients on permitting, fittings, and municipal requirements to prevent delays.\nAttend client meetings and industry conferences as needed.\nDevelop and deliver high-impact presentations to senior industry management and government stakeholders.\nReporting & Administration\nReview and approve daily field reports, close-out documentation, and invoicing.\nCoordinate subcontractor activities and field reporting, seeing projects through to accurate invoicing.\nEnsure all deliverables are accurate and submitted on time.\nManage availability of spare parts, tooling, and required PPE.\nTeam Leadership & Growth.\nAssist with hiring efforts, including candidate screening and interviews.\nOversee onboarding and training of new field team members.\nSupport continuous improvement in field processes and crew performance.\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience\nMinimum of 5-7 years of experience managing turnkey field projects in the utility/construction industry is required.\nStrong understanding of gas utility operations, gas pipeline installation and ability to read site plans and maps.\nPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nProven ability to anticipate challenges and proactively solve problems.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nComfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.\nAbility to travel regularly to field job sites.\nValid driver’s license with clean driving record.\nAbility to pass background check and random drug testing.\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree preferred or Associate’s degree or technical trade certification with at least 7 years relevant experience in the natural gas industry.\nHaving updated Operator qualifications is a plus\nTravel & Working Environment\nApproximately 75% of time will be spent on active utility construction sites throughout New York, New Jersey, and the Boston area\nWe recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As required by law in this state, the salary range for this position is $102,400 - $156,600 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
