How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Quality Engineer - Summer Intern 2027, you will support quality activities, documentation, internal audits, and corrective action efforts while working with a cross-functional team to prepare policies, processes, and procedures for the revised ISO 9001:2026 standard.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Quality Systems and Documentation
- Provide support for the development and implementation of quality activities and procedures to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2026 standard.
- Develop, revise, apply, and maintain quality procedures, quality plans, and related documents.
- Support coordination of revisions to policies, processes, and procedures to meet the requirements of the revised ISO 9001 standard.
- Cross-Functional Quality Projects
- Work with a cross-functional team to support quality system updates related to the revised ISO 9001 standard.
- Collaborate with personnel at Brentwood, Cuba, and Monroe City.
- Assist with ISO internal quality audits.
- Root Cause and Corrective Action Support
- Assist teams with root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
• Support corrective action activities related to internal and external quality issues.

Required Experience
- No prior experience required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective human relations skills, including good listening ability and the capability to work well with others to implement change.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
Education & Certifications
- Actively pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- No certifications required.
Travel & Working Environment
- Hybrid role based in Brentwood, with collaboration with personnel at Brentwood, Cuba, and Monroe City.
- Occasional or seldom travel may be required; less than 10%.
