Department/ Unit: Office of University General Education Closing date: November 22, 2026 The Office of University General Education (OUGE) oversees the offering of three courses of the University Core Requirements -“Understanding Modern China,” “China in the World,” and “Hong Kong in the Wider Constitutional Order” under the General Education China Programme. We are interested in applicants who are trained in the discipline of Humanities and Social Sciences with a focus on China. Applicants with a background in social governance, economic development or international relations would be especially welcomed. The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer. Applicants should have (i) a Ph.D. degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences and (ii) a strong commitment to teaching and the pursuit of knowledge. Research credentials on China-related topics, fieldwork experience in China, or experience teaching China studies would be an advantage. The appointee will teach courses offered by the General Education China Programme and other courses, particularly those related to China topics, for the University General Education programme.
