Ensuring that all service levels are met cost effectively and within the constraints of driver’s hours and H&S regulations.\nSalary: £30,000 per annum.\nWorking Hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 19:30pm- 7:30am.\n Key Duties of a Transport Operator:\nEnsuring that all elements of the job are effectively communicated to drivers and sub-contractors.\nTo plan the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agencies ensuring that all Company sites are fully considered when doing so.\nEnsure that all drivers are working within a safe environment and follow driver hours regulations.\nLiaising with planning team to optimise fleet/driver utilisation, identifying and resolving problems affecting delivery on time.\nTo assist in the control of equipment, ensuring that customer requirements are met and recorded.\nWorking with Compliance to ensure trucks are legal and information is downloaded in a timely manner.\nConducting initial investigations into accidents or issues of driver performance and raising with Transport Supervisors and HR to ensure they are dealt with efficiently and consistently.\nAssist Supervisors in speaking to drivers about Virtual Risk Manager and improving driving style to improve FW MPG and overall safety and to ensure that costs are managed in accordance with the KPI’s.\nUndertake additional tasks/duties as may be required by Management from time to time.\n Experience of working within a distribution / transport environment.\nExperience of managing own workload within a pressurised environment.\nSound geographical knowledge.\nBasic understanding of driver’s hours regulations/Tachograph law.\nExcellent organisational skills.\nStrong communication skills (written and verbal).\nInitiative and the ability to work unsupervised.\n As part of our drive to make Fowler Welch a great place to work.
