Our teams provide reliable, efficient and responsive services that help customers keep products moving and businesses growing.\n Life in this role\nAs part of our, Transport Logistics division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Transport Planner.\nSalary: £36,592.50 per annum\nShift: Monday-Friday, 7:00-17:00\nAs a Transport Planner you will provide a plan that deploys the allocated resource pool in the most effective way and ensure the plan meets all legal obligations in respect of WTD and EU Drivers Legislation.\nKey Duties of a Transport Planner:\nEscalation of late runners to customer services\nInput trailer numbers, fleet numbers and driver’s names as soon as practical to do so allocated against work\nInput of Arrival & departure times in Truckcom System against deliveries\nMonitor Time lapse and Restricted parking reports by specified time, focusing on unproductive time and excessive breaks/waiting times\nCheck resource availability for the shifts ahead vs workloads\nConfirm driver start times for next day before 16:00 hours\nMonitor and report WTD issues / concerns to Operations team\nMonitor terminal lifting and restitution times\nEnsure VBS bookings are made before vehicles arrive at Ports\nEnsuring there is ongoing verbal communication with the driving team to supplement the use of Truckcom\nEnsuring there is clear daily communication between day and night shifts, utilising the night shift handover documents\nManaging drivers hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demand and start and finish times\nUnderstanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilisation, loaded, empty legs and profitability\nUnderstanding and putting into practice communication from Team Supervisors (via conference calls), particularly:Managing traffic flows\nTrailer type utilisation\nMonitoring TLC customers\n\nRegularly assisting when required at drivers / debrief counter including external drivers calling in via phone\nAllocation of containers to customer loads\nReviewing allocated customers in assigned RP, ensuring work is planned to time and correct equipment\nCommunicate with ESL Customer Services and Drivers, ensuring customer KPI targets are met\nComplete and report Benefits and Concerns on a weekly basis\nDaily sign off own and agency hours for the previous day\nManagement of driver hours vs Working Time Directive and compliance\n What you’ll need ...\nWorking knowledge in Truckcom, GTS applications.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook\nWorking knowledge of WTD and EU Drivers Hours\nExperience in a transport planning environment.\n What is in it for you?\nIf you're looking for a role where you can make an impact, develop your career, and be part of a team that works as one to achieve great results, we'd love to hear from you.\nSalary Sacrifice Car Scheme - our salary sacrifice scheme offers a cost-effective way to drive an electric vehicle, with payments taken directly from your salary.
