Enabling growth.\n Life in this role \nAs part of our, Contract division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Operations Controller to at our Chorley site on a full time permanent basis.\nSalary: £27,264 per annum.\nWorking hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm rotating.\nAs the Warehouse Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.\nThis role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within warehousing and logistics. It is an ideal stepping stone for someone aspiring to progress into Warehouse Supervisory or Warehouse Management positions in the future.\nYou will gain valuable experience in operational processes, people management, customer service, compliance, and performance management while working alongside experienced leaders who will support your professional development.\nResponsibilities of the Warehouse Operations Controller include:\nEfficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.\nIssuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.\nControlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.\nBeing the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.\nCommunicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.\nParticipating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.\nMaintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.\nProducing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.\n What you’ll need ... \nProven experience within a similar fast-paced role.\nAbility to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.\nPC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.\nMust be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.\nAble to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.\nExperience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.\nExcellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.\n What is in it for you? \nIf you're looking for a role where you can make an impact, develop your career, and be part of a team that works as one to achieve great results, we'd love to hear from you.
