This opportunity will support public sector projects on behalf of a local municipality. The public works project management team provides construction management services to municipalities, county, and state agencies. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier educational facilities for our nation’s youth and adults seeking to better themselves through learning.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nProvide design, technical, engineering, and administrative support to the project team during the preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases of the project. \nCoordinates with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, consultants and school staff.\nResponsible for project document control, circulating, receiving, tracking, and maintaining organized document files such as meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, ASIs, schedules, etc. \nResponsible for management of review comments from project stakeholders. \nParticipates in, and occasionally runs, design construction, or pe-bid meetings.\nMakes field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications, plans, and established school standards. \nReads and interprets construction plans, specifications and shop drawings.\nAssists in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines.\nSupports development of daily/weekly/monthly project status reports and photos reports for project team.\nReviews, estimates, negotiates, and processes construction change orders and construction field orders.\nReviews and enforces construction and professional services contracts.\nFacilitates resolutions of construction and design issues.\nConfirms contractors maintenance of records prior to monthly progress payments to the Contractor.\nPrepares Scope of Work and procurement documents for solicitation of consultant and contractor services.\nManages close-out of construction projects, including, but not limited to, punch-lists, as-builts, and archiving. \nOther job-related duties or projects as assigned.\nKnowledge & Skills Required:\nExperience with design & bid formulation and project phase scheduling.\nExperience with the Addenda and Bid process.\nAbility to facilitate site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.\nAbility to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to the company. \nDemonstrate an understanding of how project documentation impacts the project flow. \nAbility to read blueprints. \nUtilize effective written and oral communication skills. \nUnderstand how your role contributes to the organization's goals. \nDeliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values. \nHold self accountable to individual and team goals. \nConsistently communicate and collaborate with team members and clients. \nBuild relationships with peers, leaders, and clients. \nPreferred Education and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. \nA minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction project management.
