In this role, the Tax Analyst will work closely with the Director of Tax and assist with tax compliance, reporting, audits, planning initiatives, special projects, and process improvement efforts.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nFederal and State Income Tax\nAssist in the preparation and review of federal and state income tax workpapers.\nGather and analyze financial data required for tax return preparation.\nAssist in the review of tax returns prepared by external service providers.\nSupport quarterly and annual tax provision calculations under ASC 740.\nMaintain required tax schedules.\nTrack filing payment deadlines.\nTrack and respond to routine tax authority correspondence.\nAssist with state apportionment, nexus reviews, and state tax filings.\nMonitor tax law and regulatory developments.\nSales and Use Tax\nGather and/or review information for sales and use tax returns.\nAnalyze transactions for indirect tax compliance.\nAssist with taxability determinations and exemption certificate management.\nResearch state-specific sales and use tax requirements.\nSupport sales tax audits and inquiries.\nProperty Tax\nAssist in gathering and analyzing data for personal and real property tax renditions and returns.\nTrack assessment notices and payment deadlines.\nWork with external services providers, review property tax assessments, and identify and action appeal opportunities.\nOther Tax Compliance\nAssist with annual reports, business licenses, and gross receipts tax filings.\nPrepare supporting documentation for various tax filings and notices.\nMaintain tax calendars and filing deadlines.\nTax Audits and Controversy\nCollect and organize information requested by tax authorities.\nSupport federal, state, sales tax, and property tax audits.\nMaintain audit documentation and tax records.\nProcess Improvement and Special Projects\nMaintain and improve tax compliance processes and documentation.\nAssist with the use of technology to streamline and automate projects.\nPerform tax research using a digital tax library and AI and summarize findings.\nParticipate in tax planning and special projects as assigned.\nOther\nOther duties as assigned.\nAttendance at work during normal business hours.\nKnowledge & Skills Required:\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills.\nAbility to analyze large data sets and identify discrepancies.\nUnderstanding of accounting principles and financial statements.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.\nEagerness to learn and develop expertise across multiple tax disciplines.\nundefined\nPreferred Education and Experience:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or related field.\nExperience: 3 to 7 years of tax and accounting experience required.
