Through collaboration, education, and innovative technology, we strive to deliver reliable, long-term solutions that add value to our clients’ businesses and facilities.\nCummings Electrical is seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Technician based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who is willing to travel nationwide to support projects across multiple markets and locations. Our Network Services team provides structured cabling and fiber optic solutions for commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, and other complex facilities. In this role, you will install, terminate, splice, test, certify, and troubleshoot copper and fiber network infrastructure while maintaining Cummings Electrical’s standards for safety, quality, and execution.\nResponsibilities\nInstall cable raceways and supports including conduit, cable/basket tray, sleeves, hooks, and underground pathways. \nInstall, route, support, dress, and terminate structured cabling systems in commercial and industrial facilities. \nInstall and terminate low-voltage control, communication, instrumentation, and multi-conductor cabling and associated field devices. \nInstall and terminate Cat5 - Cat6A, patch panels, data jacks, and related copper cabling. \nInstall, terminate, fusion splice, test, and troubleshoot single mode and multimode fiber cables. \nPerform mechanical, anaerobic, and fusion splice fiber terminations, including LC, SC, and ST connectors, pigtails, splice cassettes, and fiber enclosures. \nTest and certify copper and fiber systems using Fluke DSX, OTDR tester, or equivalent equipment. \nBuild out IDF and MDF spaces including cabinets, racks, switches, patch panels, fiber enclosures, ladder rack, and cable management systems. \nSupport device installation, point checks, and troubleshooting of network and low-voltage systems. \nRead drawings, risers, schematics, cable schedules, rack elevations, and specifications. \nProperly label and maintain test results, as-builts, and project documentation. \nCoordinate with project teams while meeting safety, quality, and project requirements. \nTravel and work overtime, nights, weekends, or alternate schedules as required. \nQualifications\nMinimum 3-years of commercial structured cabling or network infrastructure experience. \nMinimum 2-years of fiber installation, termination, fusion splicing, testing, and troubleshooting experience. 3-5 years preferred. \nCertifications (BICSI, Corning/FOA, or similar) are a plus \nExperience with Cat5e-Cat6A cable, patch panels, network switches, data jacks, RJ45 connectors, and structured cabling systems. \nExperience with single mode and multimode fiber, including LC, SC, ST, APC, mechanical, anaerobic, and fusion terminations. \nExperience operating Fujikura, Sumitomo, or similar fusion splicing equipment. \nExperience using Fluke or similar certification equipment, OTDRs, optical loss testers, VFLs, power meters, and fiber inspection tools. \nWorking knowledge of structured cabling practices and applicable ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEC, etc. \nAbility to interpret test results, fiber loss limits, splice performance, and acceptance requirements. \nAbility to read telecom drawings, specs, schematics, and cable schedules. \nAbility to independently troubleshoot copper and fiber systems and determine corrective action. \nAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial lifts, cable installation equipment, and test equipment. \nValid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet company requirements. \nAbility to travel and work overtime or alternate schedules as required. \nAbility to safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. \nHow we support you:\nOur environment allows you to take pride in your work, create meaningful connections, and acquire growth-based development skills.
