Our internship is designed to give real-world experience necessary to apply for the PE exam. The internship will support the day to day engineering challenges supporting Electrical Construction.\nResponsibilities\nElectrical Design using AutoCAD \nShort-Circuit, Arc Flash, and Coordination Studies using SKM Power Tools\nHand Calculations using Excel to check program calculation results\nWorking Conditions:\nMainly office but may also include all other work environments as required: sit, stand, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone\nWork is generally performed in climate-controlled office environment\nPrimary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment\nConsiderable time is spent at a desk using a computer terminal\nMay on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment\nCan be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noises and extreme heat/cold temperatures, if visiting job sites or other off-site events\nCan be exposed to Heavy Equipment, slippery surfaces, uneven footing on the jobsite \nModerate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light foot traffic)\nPhysical Functions:\nRepeat the same mental activities\nAbility to operate a keyboard at efficient speed and typical business office equipment, including computer hardware\nRegularly required to talk and/or hear; use hands to operate objects, tools or controls (phone, computer, printer etc.); and reach with hands and arms\nWork performed causes fatigue of eyes, fingers and other facilities because of continuous use of motor senses\nVision and hearing at or correctable to normal ranges\nMay be occasionally be asked to lift, stoop, kneel, and/or move objects up to 25 pounds\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands \nRegular, predictable attendance is required\nQualifications\nAt least 2 years credit towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering\nMinimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale\nMotivated self-starter with an interest to apply academic training within product design\nFlexible commitment 20-40 hours per work week during the length of internship\nApplicant must reside in TX (DFW area) or have the ability to relocate and secure their own housing for the duration of the program\nThese statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.
