That’s what #LifeAtCummins is all about.\nWe are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for CUMMINS in Cienega de Flores, NLE, Mexico (100% On site role)\nJob Summary:\nContributes to the planning, designing, purchasing,and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while contributing to teams.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssists with the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and productspecifications are met.\nContributes by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improvemanufacturing equipment and processes.Assists with the development of manufacturing standards and working methods by using continuous improvement tools.\nWorks with internal and external resources on specific project assignments. Learns the knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.\n In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:\nQualifications and Competencies\nCollaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.\nCommunicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.\nHealth and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.\nDrawing Interpretation - Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing process that meets product design specifications.\nEquipment/Capital Procurement - Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs.\nManufacturing Analysis Led Design - Uses digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment and performance to make data driven decisions before changes are made and to drive continuous improvements.\nManufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.\nProcess Documentation - Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.\nTool and Fixture Design - Selects work-piece-holding devices capable of effectively holding parts and products during a manufacturing process to secure their position to meet functional requirements.\nValues differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.\nContinuous Process Improvement - Recognizes areas in which a process can be improved by properly implementing process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to reduce process cost and improve quality in current manufacturing processes.\nErgonomics Process and Workplace Design - Designs, creates or adapts processes and workstations by implementing ergonomic controls through the application of the Cummins ergonomic design guidelines to reduce risk and deliver ergonomically designed work.\nProblem Solving - Solves problems and may mentor others on effective problem solving by using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, databased solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and ensures actions to prevent problem reoccurrence are implemented.\nWorkstation Design - Designs operator work stations that are safe, healthy, and ergonomic while accounting for cost, quality, and delivery to contribute to an efficient work environment.\n To be successful in this role you will need the following:\nProficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with the ability to interpret, review, open, measure, and modify engineering drawings.\n\nExperience supporting new line development and implementation, including workstation and process design.\n\nExperience developing and updating standard work instructions and documentation.\n\nKnowledge of safety, quality, ergonomics, and efficiency requirements within manufacturing environments.\n\nExperience with workstation design and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nStrong project management and follow-up skills, including tracking part numbers, materials, tooling, lubricants, and other production requirements.\n\nAbility to coordinate and follow up with internal customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.\n\nStrong operational understanding of Value Stream Mapping (VSM), including material flow, process flow, quality points, inputs/outputs, and value-added activities.\n\nAbility to identify opportunities for improvement through Ishikawa, Pareto, 5 Why, VSM, and other Lean Manufacturing tools.\n\nExperience translating process analysis into Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.\n\nProactive, analytical, and hands-on approach to identifying and solving manufacturing issues.\n\nAbility to work effectively in a manufacturing/production environment and collaborate closely with operations.\n\nExperience in forging and machining is a plus\n\nAdvanced English.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering or related.\n\nStrong experience in machining, demonstrating history in technical problem solving and quality decision-making with customer focus.\n\nAdvanced english\n\nPreferred (Desirable):\nExperience in forging and machining is a plus.\n\nEducation, Licenses, Certifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related\n“Cummins is an equal employment opportunity employer.
