The successful candidate will contribute to projects that enhance engineering efficiency through AI/Digital tools and accelerate mechanical validation of components using innovative rig testing methods to replicate engine running conditions without burning fuel in a engine test cell.\nThis role will give you an opportunity to work on different sub-systems of the engine and you will interact with a wide range of global and local cross functional groups and departments to co-ordinate project delivery.\nDuring your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.\nThe requirements are to be onsite for 3 days per week so you will need to be able to travel or relocate to the location on your own behalf.\nThis role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence in Summer 2027.\nIn this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:\nSupport AI & Digital Engineering Tool Development: Assist in designing, testing, and deploying digital and AI-oriented tools to optimise engine sub-system component design, investigation, testing and project/resource management.\nContribute to Zero Fuel Burn Testing Component Validation: Participate in the design, setup, execution, and monitoring of advanced component rig validation tests aimed at reducing the time required in an engine test cell & fuel burn.\nData Evaluation & Reporting: Collect, process, and investigate experimental and simulation data, preparing clear technical reports and visualisations to support engineering decision-making.\n To be successful in this role you will need the following:\nWe are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards an Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other related STEM degree.
