You will support the team to configure (tune), integrate, test, and release software, electronic control units, and tools into an electronic system that controls the operation of Cummins’ products in a variety of customer applications.\nDuring your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!\nThe requirements are to be onsite for 3 days per week, so you will need to be able to travel or relocate to the location on your own behalf.\nThis role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence in Summer 2027.\n In this role, you will make an impact by:\nValidating calibrations for the Engine Control Unit (ECU).\nPlanning and carrying out verification and validation testing for developed calibrations and engine controllers.\nAnalyzing data from the field and end users, troubleshooting and resolving issues of any size, and supporting the wider team in doing so.\nPreparing and presenting technical documentation for design reviews as part of product development.\nWork in cross-functional teams to develop products and resolve issues.\n To be successful in this role you will need the following:\nTo be currently studying a STEM subject at degree level, with an allowance for a 12-month industry placement\nA positive attitude towards learning new things, with the confidence to ask questions and the ability to learn quickly.\nAbility to work well with others and build positive working relationships within the team.\nUnderstand how engineering rules, guidelines and best practices are applied.
