this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:\nSupport Product Validation: Assist in validating electronic systems and prototypes by executing test plans, collecting data, and documenting results to support product development activities. \nBuild and Configure Test Setups: Create, configure, and maintain electrical and electronic hardware test environments used for validation and benchmarking activities. \nDrive Data-Based Decisions: Analyze test results and system performance data to identify trends, support issue resolution, and contribute to engineering recommendations. \nImprove System Reliability: Support the development of comprehensive test cases and validation procedures that help ensure the quality and performance of electronic systems. \nCollaborate Across Engineering Teams: Work closely with validation engineers, controls engineers, and cross-functional teams to support project objectives and deliver technical solutions. \nAdvance Testing Capabilities: Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard validation tools, instrumentation, and automotive diagnostic platforms while helping improve testing processes and efficiency. \n To be successful in this role, you will need the following:\nElectrical Systems Knowledge: Foundational understanding of electrical circuits, electronic components, sensors, actuators, and signal analysis principles. \nTesting & Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to perform hands-on testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and other diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues. \nAnalytical Problem Solving: Strong ability to interpret data, analyze system performance, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions. \nModeling & Simulation Knowledge: Working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink to support analysis, validation, and system development activities. \nTechnical Learning Agility: Willingness and ability to quickly learn new engineering tools, validation methods, and automotive technologies. \nCommunication & Teamwork: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams and present technical findings clearly. \nEducation Requirements\nCurrently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited U.S. college or university. \nPreferred majors include: \nElectrical Engineering \nSystems Engineering \nControl Engineering \nComputer Engineering \nComputer Science \nMinimum GPA of 2.5 preferred. \nExperience Requirements\nMust be enrolled full-time in a degree program throughout the assignment. \nAbility to commit to a minimum 6-month and up to a 12-month School-to-Work assignment. \nAvailable to work 40 hours per week. \nDemonstrated coursework, academic projects, or laboratory experience related to electronics, controls, embedded systems, testing, or validation activities. \nWillingness to learn and develop technical skills through hands-on engineering experience. \n Preferred Qualifications\nExperience using MATLAB and Simulink. \nFamiliarity with automotive communication protocols and electronics systems. \nExposure to automotive diagnostic and validation tools such as: \nVector CANalyzer \nCANape \nCANoe \ndSPACE ControlDesk \nExperience working with data acquisition systems and laboratory test equipment. \nDemonstrated leadership through academic projects, student organizations, internships, or extracurricular activities. \nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. \nCurrently residing within the continental United States. \nAbility to work onsite in Troy, Michigan, with flexibility as
