Here, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, drive innovation, and help shape the future of cannabis.\nHVAC Technician\nJob Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt\nShift: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm\nPay: $30.50 to $34.00+ per hour\nLocation: Taneytown, MD\nWho You Are:\nAs an HVAC Technician, you’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal climate conditions for cannabis cultivation, processing, and storage.\nYou’ll ensure precise temperature, humidity, and airflow to support healthy plants, top-quality products, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with cultivation and operations teams, you’ll help keep systems running efficiently.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nInstall, maintain, and repair HVAC systems: Keep air handlers, dehumidifiers, ventilation units, and CO₂ enrichment systems running smoothly for optimal plant growth.\nMonitor and adjust climate controls: Ensure ideal temperature, humidity, and air circulation levels to maintain a stable cultivation environment.\nTroubleshoot and repair issues: Quickly diagnose and resolve HVAC-related problems to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.\nPerform preventive maintenance: Regularly clean, replace filters, and inspect system components to extend equipment life and prevent breakdowns.\nEnsure compliance: Follow state and local cannabis industry regulations for climate control, air filtration, odor mitigation, and EPA refrigerant handling guidelines.\nSupport energy efficiency efforts: Assist in identifying and implementing solutions to optimize system performance and reduce operating costs.\nMaintain accurate records: Track system performance, maintenance schedules, and compliance reports for internal and regulatory needs.\nCollaborate with teams: Work closely with cultivation, processing, and retail teams to meet facility climate requirements.\nFollow safety and SOP guidelines: Adhere to OSHA standards, company procedures, and assist with contractor coordination for major repairs and inspections.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)\nTechnical school certification or 1-2 years of experience in commercial or residential HVAC (required)\nAt least 5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance\nEPA 608 Universal certification (required)\nStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, dehumidification, and ventilation\nUnderstanding of climate control for indoor cultivation, with expertise in temperature and humidity management\nAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components of HVAC systems\nAttention to detail and efficiency, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment\nEven Better If:\nYou have an HVAC certification (preferred).\nYou’ve worked in controlled environment agriculture, food processing, or the cannabis industry-a big plus!\nYou have a basic understanding of cannabis industry regulations related to air quality and climate control.\nYou’re familiar with Building Management Systems (BMS) and how they integrate with HVAC operations.\nYou have experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including installation, troubleshooting, and programming.\nYou’re comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting.\nPhysical Requirements:\nWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear, use hands to finger or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
