Keeps accurate and up to date records of trips (mileage) and repairs that are submitted to the supervisor on a regular basis\nEnsures that all necessary measures are taken to avoid theft of the vehicles. These measures should include among others locking the doors and windows, avoiding using the vehicles in times and places of high risk, and also ensuring that vehicles are parked in secure places\nInspects the vehicles on a regular basis to detect any faults and/or damage, whether accidental or otherwise and makes suggestions for repair\nEnsure that vehicle repairs and maintenance are carried out on time done properly as per official manufacturers specifications and work is done from officially designated workshops.\nEnsure that the hospital vehicles are kept tidy and clean at all times. Regular day to day maintenance checks oil, water, battery, brakes and tyres using the vehicle checklist.\nMaintain the vehicle in a satisfactory condition, including weekly cleaning of the interior and exterior and periodic (quarterly) cleaning of the motor and chassis.\nEnsure that tires are in good working conditions at all time, and that spare tire is in good\nReport any apparent malfunction to the supervisor.\nEnsure that the vehicle is safely parked and locked when not in use. \n\nSpiritual Ministry\n\n Participates in the hospital’s Spiritual Ministry programs. \nAttend chapel and departmental bible studies with staff (depending on weekly schedule)\n\nParticipation in meetings\n\nAttend and participate in department meetings as scheduled\nAttend and participate in general co-workers’ meetings as scheduled.\n\nOccupation Health and Safety\n\nFollowing & complying with H&S policies, processes & applying them to your own work activities, including using/wearing Personal Protective Equipment as required.\nParticipating in activities directed at preventing harm & promoting well-being in the workplace Identifying, reporting & self-managing hazards where appropriate.\n\nSpiritual Ministry Participation \n\nParticipates in the hospital’s Spiritual Ministry programs.\nAttend chapel and departmental bible studies with staff (depending on weekly schedule).\n\nEducation and Professional Development\n\nIdentifies and pursues continuing professional development activities in line with their position and maintains professional records that provide evidence of activities completed.\nWorks with one's supervisor to guide in mentorship and coaching for continual professional growth.\nKeep up to date with the position administrative practices and all other relevant matters to ensure maintenance of the knowledge and skill base necessary to good professional practice.\n\n Essential Qualifications \n\nUganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a pass in English language.\nA certificate in Logistics and Motor Vehicle Mechanic is an added advantage\nMust poses a valid driving permit of these classes C1, C, D1, D\nNGO or Healthcare setting. Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience of clean driving record in an \nMust be able to think clearly during emergency and urgent situations\nMust have a good knowledge of current traffic rules and regulations\nMust have good communication and interpersonal skills\nWillingness to stay overnight (i.e. on outreaches and when picking up guests at the airport)\nComputer literate - conversant with Microsoft Office\nCapable of undertaking duties during odd hours and be able to work under pressure\nWillingness to do any other duties assigned from time to time\n\n Professional Essential Skills
