This individual will ensure accurate financial records, resolve billing discrepancies, and collaborate with internal teams and clients to maintain efficient billing operations.\nThe ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience managing billing processes in a fast-paced environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare, review, and process client invoices, ensuring accuracy of billing details, project notes, and work-in-progress (WIP) records.\n\nReview daily receipts and apply payments accurately, resolving discrepancies as needed.\n\nManage billing inquiries and communicate with clients and internal teams via email, phone, and Microsoft Teams.\n\nMonitor accounts receivable, generate aging reports, and follow up on outstanding invoices and overdue balances.\n\nProcess collection records, client refunds, and billing adjustments while maintaining accurate documentation.\n\nReview and resolve outstanding WIP items, prepayments, and account discrepancies.\n\nCollaborate across departments to improve billing workflows, resolve issues, and maintain compliance with company policies.\n\nAssist with staff training on billing procedures and best practices.\n\nQualifications\nAssociate's degree in Business or a related field preferred.\n\n2-4 years of billing, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience preferred.\n\nExperience with invoicing, payment reconciliation, collections, and financial reporting.\n\nStrong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and billing/accounting software.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams.\n\nExperience in a CPA firm or professional services environment is a plus.\n\nWork Arrangement\nOn-site preferred in Springfield, MO; hybrid schedule (3 days in office / 2 remote) available for consideration.\n\nFully remote arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates.\n\nRemote hires must complete one week of on-site training in Springfield, MO.\n\nStandard schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with occasional overtime.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.\nOur salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry.
