This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while helping shape engineering standards and best practices across the agency.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead the technical architecture, development, and delivery of complex digital projects across multiple client engagements\nPartner with strategy, design, production, and engineering teams to define technical approaches and delivery plans\nServe as a technical lead and point of contact for client stakeholders\nBuild scalable, maintainable, and high-performing web applications and CMS-driven platforms\nDevelop proof-of-concept solutions and evaluate technical feasibility for integrations and new features\nGuide engineering standards, code quality, and architectural best practices across projects\nConduct code reviews and mentor engineers across the team\nAssess technical health of active projects and recommend improvements or modernization opportunities\nCollaborate on project planning, estimation, technical scoping, and delivery strategy\nContribute to internal tooling, workflows, and engineering culture initiatives\nStay informed on emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve processes and solutions\nWhat You’ll Bring\n6-8 years of software or web development experience, ideally within an agency or consulting environment\nStrong expertise in JavaScript, PHP, and modern front-end/back-end frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or Node.js\nAdvanced experience with Drupal and WordPress CMS platforms\nDeep understanding of Drupal architecture, APIs, custom module development, and theming\nStrong knowledge of the LAMP stack, including PHP and MySQL\nExperience building scalable applications, integrations, and API-driven solutions\nExperience with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, Acquia, Pantheon, Azure, or Google Cloud\nStrong understanding of Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment best practices\nAbility to lead technical decision-making while remaining hands-on in execution\nStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders\nNice to Have\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized development environments\nFamiliarity with automated testing frameworks and DevOps practices\nExperience working within Agile delivery environments such as Scrum or Kanban\nExperience leading engineering teams or mentoring developers across projects\nStrong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning experience\nFamiliarity with Jira, Workfront, or similar project management tools\nWhy Current\nAt Current, we believe the best digital work happens when strategy, design, production, and technology operate as one team.
