We attract and retain talent with the approach that everyone should be excellent at what they do.\nBFJ’s mission is to make public accounting the career of choice in the financial industry.\nStaff Auditor\nA Staff Auditor should be able to work independently, complete work accurately and in a timely manner, and establish workload priorities. In addition, a Staff Auditor should contribute to a team environment, assisting those around them. This role supports audit engagements through planning, risk assessment, testing, documentation, and client deliverables while continuing to develop technical accounting and auditing knowledge.\nKey responsibilities\nDevelop knowledge of GAAS\n\nParticipate in audit engagement file organization and documentation\n\nWork with the engagement team during assessment of audit risk, planning, and design of audit procedures\n\nUnderstand and utilize the firm's audit methodology\n\nPrepare and perform substantive testing on clients' balance sheets and income statements\n\nObtain an understanding and assessment of clients' internal controls and make recommendations for improvement through the risk assessment process\n\nAudit more simplistic areas and transactions and assist with preparing client deliverable reports\n\nIdentify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to Seniors, Managers, and Partners\n\nAssist in identifying and improving performance on engagements\n\nEnsure professional development through active continuing professional education\n\nParticipate in firm-wide initiatives, including recruitment\n\nKey accountabilities\nAudit engagement files are organized and documented accurately and completely\n\nAssigned audit procedures and testing are completed accurately and in a timely manner\n\nAudit methodology and professional standards are consistently followed\n\nAccounting and auditing issues are appropriately identified and communicated to engagement leadership\n\nInternal control observations and recommendations are documented through the risk assessment process\n\nKey results / expectations\nWorks independently while appropriately prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines\n\nContributes positively to the engagement team and supports teammates as needed\n\nDemonstrates developing knowledge of GAAP and GAAS through engagement participation\n\nSuccessfully performs substantive testing and completes assigned audit sections\n\nMaintains effective communication with clients, staff, managers, and partners\n\nDemonstrates reliability and a positive attitude in the working environment\n\nSkill / knowledge requirements\nUnderstanding of audit services with developing knowledge of GAAP and GAAS\n\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail\n\nAbility to communicate with clients, staff, managers, and partners\n\nDemonstrated experience or ability to act as in-charge on audit sections\n\nReliable with a positive attitude toward the working environment\n\nProfessional experience requirements\n0-3 years of current or recent public accounting experience providing financial statement auditing services\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field\n\nCPA license or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a CPA license, including required coursework\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.\nOur salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry.
