This position is ideal for someone beginning their career in public accounting or with up to 2 years of tax experience. The role offers exposure to a wide range of clients including closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, providing an excellent foundation for career development in tax.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist in preparing federal and state tax returns for small to medium-sized businesses (Forms 1065 and 1120S), including multi-state filings\n\nImport and reconcile client trial balances into tax preparation software\n\nSupport the review process by checking trial balances for accuracy and assisting in identifying timing differences (Schedule M)\n\nPrepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040), including those involving multiple K-1s and multi-state filings\n\nConduct basic tax research on federal, state, and local tax matters\n\nCommunicate with clients to gather tax documents and clarify information\n\nStay current on changes in tax laws and compliance requirements\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred\n\n2-3 years of experience in public accounting or tax (internships accepted)\n\nFamiliarity with common IRS forms such as 1065, 1120S, 1040, Schedule M, K-1's, FBAR\n\nProficiency in Excel and experience with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar)\n\nStrong attention to detail and time management skills\n\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities\n\nMulti-lingual a plus (Portuguese, Italian and/or Spanish preferred based on demographics and client list).\n\nNice to Have:\nExposure to multi-state or composite tax filings\n\nInterest in continued learning and professional growth\n\nThis position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration.
