This role is ideal for a strong technical tax professional who enjoys client advisory, team leadership, and business development and is looking for long-term growth within a firm.\nThe Tax Director will oversee complex tax engagements, manage key client relationships, mentor tax professionals, and contribute to the firm's continued growth and future leadership.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage and review complex individual, partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, trust, and estate tax returns.\n\nProvide strategic tax planning, research, and advisory services to clients.\n\nServe as a trusted advisor to key clients, maintaining strong relationships and identifying planning opportunities.\n\nOversee multiple tax engagements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.\n\nLead, mentor, and develop tax managers, seniors, and staff.\n\nCollaborate with firm partners on complex tax matters, client strategy, and practice growth.\n\nSupport business development through networking, referrals, cross-selling, and new client opportunities.\n\nContribute to process improvements, workflow efficiency, and overall tax practice operations.\n\nDemonstrate the leadership, business judgment, and client development skills necessary for future partnership.\n\nQualifications\nActive CPA license required.\n\n10+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including significant management responsibility.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and estate taxation.\n\nExperience managing complex tax engagements and advising business owners and individuals.\n\nProven leadership, staff development, and client relationship management skills.\n\nStrong tax planning, analytical, and communication abilities.\n\nInterest in business development, client growth, and a long-term path to partnership.\n\nPrevious Senior Manager or Director experience preferred.\n\nBusiness development or client origination experience is a plus.\n\nProficiency with public accounting tax software and workflow systems.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.\nOur salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry.
