This position will manage an established portfolio of small and mid-sized businesses, their owners, and high-net-worth individuals across a variety of industries. Responsibilities include tax compliance, planning, advisory services, and oversight of client relationships and engagement teams.\nWe are looking for someone who can work directly with clients, provide practical tax advice, lead a team, and take ownership of engagements. An existing book of business is not required.\nResponsibilities\nManage client relationships for closely held businesses, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals.\n\nProvide federal, state, and local tax planning and advisory services, with a particular focus on partnerships, S corporations, and individuals.\n\nOversee tax engagements, including reviews, deadlines, staffing, budgets, and profitability.\n\nAdvise clients on entity structure, business transactions, succession planning, and related tax matters.\n\nSupervise, mentor, and develop managers and staff; delegate work effectively and provide technical guidance.\n\nIdentify additional service opportunities within existing client relationships and participate in business development efforts.\n\nCollaborate with partners and other service lines to enhance client service and firm operations.\n\nQualifications\nActive CPA license required; New York licensure preferred.\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.\n\nGenerally 10+ years of public accounting experience, including responsibility for client relationships and tax engagements.\n\nStrong background in partnership and S corporation taxation, closely held businesses, and high-net-worth individual tax compliance and planning.\n\nExperience with multistate and fiduciary taxation preferred.\n\nExperience with CCH Axcess Tax and the Wolters Kluwer CCH Suite required.\n\nProven ability to oversee a diverse client portfolio and manage and develop professional staff.\n\nStrong communication, organizational, technical, and client service skills.\n\nCurrent partners, tax directors, and experienced senior tax managers with the ability to perform at the partner level are encouraged to apply.\nCompensation & Benefits\nCompetitive compensation commensurate with experience, including performance-based incentive opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package with a 401(k) plan.\nLocation\nThis position is ideally based in our Woodbury, Long Island office, with flexibility based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe total rewards package at Current includes base salary and benefits.\nOur salary ranges are competitive within the accounting industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry.
