You will ensure the business adopts a safety-based culture and to lead the implementation & operation of systems for Health and Safety and Environmental Management, in line with the business objectives and existing certifications (e.g. ISO 14001, 45001).\nLocation: Wimborne, UK\nYour Challenge:\nLead the implementation, operation and ongoing maintenance of the Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 & 45001)\nEngage with the business to embed best practices and maintain ISO certifications.\nFacilitate effective collaboration with manufacturing and support teams to identify hazards, assess risks and implement practical and sustainable solutions.\nDevelop and implement an HSE strategy to strengthen a positive safety culture and encourage continual improvement.\nLead HSE events, communications and safety initiatives\nCoordinate HSE Management systems to deliver core requirements that include but are not limited to: risk assessments, safety tours, hazard identification, accident/near miss/incident investigation/reporting, internal/external auditing, waste stream, environmental aspects monitoring, legal/regulatory compliance, employee training, emergency preparedness & response.\nBuild strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through regular engagement, coaching and presence in operational areas.\nManage and develop the HSE team to ensure delivery of functional and strategic objectives\nAgreeing meaningful and stretching HSE objectives and targets (KPIs) and challenging progress of associated programme plans, aligned to the business strategy\nPreparation/analysis of monthly HSE reports (including KPIs) for the Senior, Executive and corporate Leadership teams\nOversight of HSE statutory and legislative requirements and liaising with relevant authorities\nMaintain effective consultation with Senior Leadership team and staff through safety committees and safety briefings as required\nDocument control, maintenance of registers and HSE management software\nParticipate in the Out of hours rota for emergency response\nAny other duties as required.\nWhat You Bring:\nNEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification or experience\nNEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management or equivalent qualification or experience\nProven HSE experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (for example, Nuclear, Aerospace or Medical)\nProven experience working in accordance with, continually developing and/or implementing ISO management systems (e.g. 14001, 45001, 9001).\nProfessional level knowledge, Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation, statutory compliance for all jurisdictions and HSE best practice thinking\nStrong problem solving and incident investigation skills\nStrong planning & organisational skills\nStrong written & verbal communication and influencing skills\n·Ability to continually and constructively challenge and influence stakeholders to prioritise and deliver safety excellence\nIT literate (MS Office, HSE related software packages)\nNEBOSH Diploma\nIEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management\nMember of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (Tech IOSH)\nMember of the BIFM Environmental Management Membership (IEMA)\nWho We Are\nOur Values\nEnvironmental, Social and Governance\nCurtiss-Wright Wimborne, a Business Unit of Curtiss-Wright Nuclear, is a global engineering and design manufacture leader with just over six decades of experience designing for heavily regulated markets, such as nuclear, aerospace, oil and gas, and more.
