This includes:\nDefine low level system requirements such as functional module requirements, software requirements and requirements to external vendors\n\nArchitecting hardware/software solutions\n\nLeading integration and test activities\n\nEnsuring compliance with rigorous environmental and safety standards\n\nDelivering innovative, reliable systems that perform under extreme conditions - all while thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment\n\nWhat you Bring:\nProven Systems Engineering Experience\nFull-lifecycle systems engineering on rugged deployed systems for harsh environments (requirements, design, integration, verification, certification)\nDevelopment of electronic assemblies optimized for rugged environments and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)\nRequirements management, traceability, and validation; ability to write clear, formal documentation\nTechnical Depth\nExperience with DOORS and JIRA; working knowledge of Cameo a plus\nLatest high-speed interconnects (Gen 3/4 PCIe, 40/100GbE, USB 3.x, DDR4/5)\nPCB design (stack-up, materials, IPC standards)\nSerial protocols: MIL-STD-1553, RS-422/485/232, 10G/100G Ethernet, PCIe, USB\nEnvironmental & power standards: MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, DO-160\nSafety-critical processes (DO-254, DO-178C, ARP4754, MIL-STD-882); prior FAA/RTCA certification experience highly valued\nSystem safety analyses (SSA, FHA, FMEA) a plus\nHands-On & Problem-Solving Skills\nOutstanding debug and troubleshooting of rugged computing systems (hardware, firmware, OS level)\nProficient across Windows and Linux environments\nScripting/automation experience (Python or similar)\n- Cross-disciplinary awareness of electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing impacts\nProfessional Attributes\nResults-driven self-starter who manages multiple priorities in a dynamic environment\nExceptional problem-solving, creativity, and engineering judgment\nStrong verbal and written communication; comfortable presenting to technical and non-technical audiences\nTeam player who leads by example, takes ownership, holds self-accountable, and drives continuous improvement\nPassion for customer success and team development\nEducation/Experience\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science, Technologist Diploma or equivalent will be considered\n8 years systems engineering experience in rugged deployed systems for harsh environments\nWho We Are\nOur Values\nEnvironmental, Social and Governance\nAt our world-class manufacturing and design facility in Ottawa, Ontario, we manufacture rugged products optimized for high-mix, high quality and small batch sizes typical of military requirements.
