Examine instructions, noting specifications and requirements. \nObtain all necessary fixtures, tools and related equipment. \nPrepare surfaces, assemble and position parts as required to be welded, also including layout, assembly and fabrication to drawing requirements. Mount components or assemblies on positioners. \nSet up required welding or brazing equipment. Check process specifications, follow prescribed procedures and perform assigned operations in all positions. Remove slag, chip and grind visible defects before depositing subsequent passes. Document metal joining sequences as required. \nPerform chipping, grinding, hand burning, air-arc, or torch operations as required. \nGrind and prepare weld surfaces for penetrant test and perform penetrant test. \nOperate ovens for pre-heating requirements. Monitor ovens for stress relief or heat treatment processes. \nHandle parts and material as required. Hand lift light loads. Operate cranes, hoists, etc., to position or transport heavy loads. \nMaintain a clean, orderly and safe workplace. Protect all equipment and maintain equipment cleanliness. \nObserve all safety and hygiene requirements as specified and directed. Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication and fluid levels, and perform simple machine error recovery. \nMachine operation includes editing programs, proving out programs and utilizing conversational and/or teach modes. \nWhat you Bring:\nDue to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens\nMust be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approval.\nExperience with all types of welding materials; ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys; castings, forgings, plates, bars, etc., of any required thickness. \nHigh school graduate and certified welding program or equivalent\nExperience with all types and sizes of manual and automatic metal-joining equipment, including but not limited to AC and DC welding machines, sub-arc equipment, torches of all types, and compressed gasses as required.\nExperience with ovens, hand tools, all required personal protective equipment, clamps, measuring instruments, gauges, dial indicators, fire extinguishers, etc.\nAutomatic welding experience (Buggo, Liburdi, Jetline).\nExperienced in multiple welding processes.\nWho we are:\nOur Values\nEnvironmental, Social and Governance\nEMD a business unit of Curtiss-Wright in Cheswick, PA designs, manufactures, tests, and provides after-market support for the most advanced, proven and reliable critical function pumps, motors, generators, seals, control rod drive mechanisms and power conditioning electronics available anywhere in the world today.
